What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked?

- The movie effectively built tension through the use of sound design, or rather, the absence of sound. A Quiet Place capitalized on the fear of making noise and heightened the suspense by putting the characters in constant danger. The film's ability to create a tense atmosphere without relying on dialogue was both impressive and engaging.


What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task?

- One convention that did not resonate with me in A Quiet Place was the reliance on jump scares. While jump scares can effectively startle the audience, I prefer to focus on creating a more sustained sense of dread and psychological horror for my final task. I want to construct an atmosphere that lingers in viewers' minds rather than relying solely on sudden frights.
